Dr. Tanner's patient-centered care approach is grounded in a Christian worldview, which forms the foundation of her practice. She has a profound understanding of the importance of service, empathy, and the establishment of a therapeutic alliance. 

As a Board Certified Adult Nurse Practitioner, Clinical Nurse Specialist, Licensed Registered Dietitian, and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, she seamlessly integrates patient-centered strategies and evidence-based practices into care. Her comprehensive, holistic approach addresses mental health's interconnected physical, emotional, and psychological aspects, ensuring the best possible outcomes.

Ms. Tanner has over 20 years of healthcare experience, specializing in nutrition, integrative and functional health, disease management, and obesity management. She graduated from Virginia State University with a B.S. in Dietetics and a M.Ed. in Adult Education. 

She also received an M.S. with a concentration in Acute Care Clinical Nurse Specialist and a Post Graduate Certificate with a concentration in Nutrition from Liberty University. She later obtained her Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Grand Canyon University. Ms. Tanner completed a Post Graduate Certificate concentration in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at Radford University. 

Her background in education equips her with a unique approach to tailored evidence-based care, patient engagement, and self-efficacy. She possesses a specialized knowledge base that enables her to truly provide holistic treatment, an imperative component of the wellness illness continuum of care.
